Bottled Water Taste Test Simulation
The class had 18/31 correctly pick BOTTLED water from our Taste Test Experiment. Based upon the graph, can you conclude that 18 is a guess from our simulation? We will discuss this further as we move through the chapter. The simulation average was 10.72 correct. This sounds reasonable since 1/3 of 31 is 10.33.

Engineering is a great career pathway using mathematics.
This video is from my home town in Bayonne, NJ. Bayonne has a a unique bridge but a huge problem. Bayonne has many ports with container ships importing and exporting product around the world. Since the advent of SUPER SIZE Container Ships, engineers have to use their minds to solve the real problem of this bridge being too low for clearance.
Since bridges are the life blood of connecting millions of people on a daily basis, it wasn't possible to tear down the old Bayonne bridge and then build a new one. So these engineers have decided to keep everyday traffic moving while RAISING the bridge. This video does a great job of explaining how this is possible. Cool stuff!

2014 Dream Cities for Honors Geometry
Over the last 2 weeks, we have been exploring one of Google's newest features for teachers/students called CLASSROOM. As a silly little trial to explore CLASSROOM, I asked the class "Where's your dream city?"
Then it took a few clicks to build a map from a spreadsheet of cities and names. If you click on the PINS, you can see the first name of your child.

1) Log into CLASSROOM and do the required schoolwide Geometry writing assignment. It's due very soon. It will count as a project grade.
2) I will finish 5-3 on Thursday but I'm sure you can tackle most if not all of the HW for 5-3. Know your vocabulary!
3) We actually taught 5-4 back in Chapter 2. 5-4 deals with Inverses and Contrapositives. So start and complete the 5-4 HW.
